Migrate ISA Server 2000 configuration

To migrate ISA Server 2000 configuration

  1. At a command prompt, type

    Path\ISA2KExport.exe

    where Path is the path to the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 installation files. The path may be the root folder of the ISA Server CD or a shared folder on your network that contains the ISA Server files.
  2. On the Welcome page of the Microsoft ISA Server 2004 Beta 2 Migration Tool, click Next.
  3. On the Exported File Location page, type a file name and location for the XML file that will be created, to contain the ISA Server 2000 configuration information. Then, click Next.
  4. If the ISA Server 2000 configuration contains secret data, then on the Set Password page, type a password to use when decrypting the XML file on the ISA Server 2004 computer. The XML file is encrypted, to protect sensitive configuration information.
    Then, click Next.
  5. On the Firewall Policy Setting page, select whether to allow traffic from the Internal network to the ISA Server computer. Select one of the following:
    • Block all traffic from the Internal network to the ISA Server computer. Select this option if the clients on the Internal network do not require any services running on the ISA Server computer.
    • Allow traffic from the Internal network to the ISA Server computer. Select this opting if clients on the Internal network require services running on the ISA Server computer.
    Then, click Next.
  6. On the Start Migration Process page, click Migrate. When the status bar indicates that the migration process completed, click Next.
  7. Click Finish to close the wizard.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group.
  • You can use ISA Server 2004 import functionality to import the generated XML file. For instructions, see Import a configuration.
