To run Firewall Client unattended setup

  • At a command prompt, type

    Path\Setup /v " [SERVER_NAME_OR_IP=ISA_Server_Name] [ENABLE_AUTO_DETECT={1|0}] [REFRESH_WEB_PROXY={1|0}]/qn "

    where:
    • Path is the path to the shared ISA Server 2004 client installation files. These files are usually located in a folder on the ISA Server computer with the share name ISA\MSPclnt.
    • ISA_Server_Name is the name of the ISA Server computer to which the Firewall client should connect.
    • ENABLE_AUTO_DETECT=1 specifies that the Firewall client should automatically detect which ISA Server computer to connect to.
    • REFRESH_WEB_PROXY=1 indicates that the Firewall Client configuration should be updated with the Web proxy configuration specified on the ISA Server computer.

Notes

  • To run unattended uninstallation, type the following at a command prompt:

    MsiExec.exe /X {8C7A59A8-9ABE-459A-9A93-08C281A4A264} /qn

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the client computer.
  • The ISA Server client installation files are usually located in a folder on the ISA Server computer with the share name ISA_Server_name/MSPClnt.
  • You cannot install Firewall Client software on the ISA Server computer.
  • Upon installation, the Firewall Client application is enabled.
  • You can install Firewall Client software on client computers that run Microsoft® Windows ServerTM 2003, Windows® 2000 Server, Windows XP, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, or Windows NT® 4.0.
